Animals and humans have a lot in common, including getting stressed under certain conditions. Animals get upset and stressed when they sense danger, like when a predator is nearby or when a strange noise is present. After the bad condition goes away, they relax and go about their daily routine.
Humans deal with stress differently. Many of us decide to dwell on the negative, or something that happened in the past. Sometimes we spend time thinking about the future. We even lay in bed or another safe place feeling stressed. A few minutes of meditation or doing yoga can clear your mind – versus distract it.
